On Monday, authorities discovered a severely decomposed body inside a Tesla registered to singer D4vd at a Los Angeles impound yard.

Police said they were dispatched to the North Mansfield Avenue facility after reports of a strong odor coming from one of the vehicles.

Sources familiar with the investigation told NBC News that the remains were badly deteriorated, making identification difficult and likely to be delayed.

According to NBC Los Angeles, the body was found in a bag placed in the trunk of the Tesla, which had been towed to Hollywood Tow after being reported abandoned.

LAPD Captain Robert Peters confirmed the car had been sitting at the lot for several days. Footage from the scene showed the vehicle cordoned off with yellow police tape.
